Emergency Preparedness Community Education

Emergency preparedness community education Intro: Community education sessions that help people understand local risks and prepare for emergencies.

BRMC supports people from diverse cultural backgrounds to better understand local emergency risks such as bushfires, floods, heatwaves, water safety, and severe weather.

Education activities are practical and discussion-based, supporting people to prepare, understand warnings, and know what to do before, during, and after an emergency.

BRMC works closely with emergency services and local partners to support two-way communication between services and communities. This includes hosting seasonal multicultural community dialogues, sharing safety information, and helping services understand community questions and concerns. This work focuses on preparedness, awareness, and coordination, rather than emergency response.

Activities

  • Multicultural community education sessions and seasonal safety dialogues
